Latest GPS testing

As many of you may know, GLOBAL PI SUPPLY, likes to test many products before we add them to our site. This is especially true when it comes to REAL TIME GPS TRACKING SYSTEMS.
A few months ago, we were in communication with two very different companies.
One was based in the USA and the other in Eastern Europe.
The USA company had a very good mapping software and control panel. The pricing for the hardware was not too bad.
The pricing for the per month UNLIMITED access per unit was industry average.
The kicker that got us looking at their system in a serious manner was the fact that they also offered a WHITE LABLE software package where you paid an intial up front fee for the sofwware to be on your own server, plus a small fee per user.
We looked at all the numbers and it looked like a pretty good LONG TERM investment that could result in a good retirement residual income.
Now of course we did not just jump in an layout the several thousand dollars for the pot of gold at the end of the tunnel.
First, we wanted to purchase two of their hardware models and see how they performed on a month to month basis paying the normal startup fee plus monthly access.
Besides, that would only be about a $1,000.00 up front and even if we did not go with the WHITE LABEL later on, we can always use a few more GPS REAL TIME TRACKING SYSTEMS
in our stock for our investgators.
That was back in September, 2011. This is being written in December, 2011.
We still do not have the hardware and we are being billed every month for the access.
Neeedless to say, we have filed a REVERAL on our credit card for failure to provide what was paid for but it just goes to show- What you see is not always what you get.
As an extra on this portion - we found the company that REALLY has the software we liked so much. They are very aware of the culpert we had to initiate the REVERSAL on and they are also involved in litigation with him.
Now for company #2: Eastern Europe based.
Ordered one unit from them because they offered a great per month fee for unlimited access per unit.
The unti arrived in orderly time.
Opened it up and........ Hmmmmmmm.. a little bigger than we thought.....no magetic mounts supplied to test it under a vehicle and.. WHAT THE.????.. no SIM card.
Well, that did not go over well. They quoted a price- We sent a wire transfer for that amount
( which cost us an additional $30.00 on top on our end) so it should not be our fault that their bank
took a fee on that end too.
The second part- NO SIM CARD to access their server:
Response: That is extra too.
Question: Any special card and where do we get it?
Response: Contact this supplier and they will set us up. The supplier deals with them all the time.
Ok.. we contacted the CANADIAN head office for the SIM CARD supplier.
They replied and sent us a link to their USA based agent.
Hang on a second- we are in CANADA - Why deal with a USA agent when head office is in Canada?
He replies- he would like to set up a time to talk and introduce their product line.
We don't want that right now- Just tell us how to order the darn SIM card.
That was almost 4 weeks ago. Still waiting for a response to that e-mail and the one that followed just in case he lost the first one asking for a means to get the card.
BTW: Four days ago, the GPS manufacturer sent us an e-mail asking what the hold up was for getting the unit up for testing on a demo acccount. We reponded- can't do anything until people stop dropping the ball- it needs a special sim card and we are being ignored by the agent for that part.
Now, if I was the manufacturer of the GPS unit, I would have had this problem fixed pretty darn fast..or better still.. pre-program one and ship it with the hardware at the onset.
Some companies just don't get it.. what do you think?
